4 Tips to Achieve the Habit of Eating Healthy

1 – How a habit is acquired!

Creating healthy habits is a very clever way to have more freedom and flexibility. While performing a task, we can focus on more urgent or more important ones. In this case, our goal is to program ourselves to eat healthy. A habit takes between 18 and 254 days, according to a study by the University of London and published in the medical journal ‘Journal of Social Psychology’. It usually needs a month and a half and if we put all our efforts to eat healthy during this period of time, we may not have to start over if we skip for one day as the brain fixes it as normal and it will not cost any extra efforts.



2 – Bid Objectives with Small Goals

Think of a big goal as you eat healthy every day. But put yourself small goals too as you start with a good breakfast. The trick to create the habit or accomplish a purpose is to visualize a long-term goal as what you want to accomplish in a long time but through small victories, something that does not cost much efforts. As a result, it will be much easier for you.

3 – Visualize Realistically Eating Healthy

A study conducted by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) noted that those who are displayed realistically carry out the purpose and identify why they have proposed to stay motivated. For example, you can visualize yourself eating more vegetables than you love or hate but if you feel bad eating fruits in the morning, it is better not to fantasize about it because it will cost more. On the other hand, if you recognize the benefits of eating healthy, it will keep you more motivated and gradually you get to keep your habit.



4 – Facilitate the work

New habits are very fragile and can be left at the time of difficulty. Therefore, as far as possible, facilitate your habits with work. If you have at hand a bag of chips or cookies and healthier snacks like carrot sticks or nuts, what you will take before when you feel hunger? It is not necessary to give the answer as you just have to place the healthy food in a more accessible and visible position and junk food at the highest or most inaccessible position. You have to do the same in the refrigerator. Make sure that the right foods are closer and easier to prepare.
